Overview

V2500 SelectOne™ is the latest engine production standard, which first entered service exactly on schedule in October 2008. We listened to our customers to understand what they wanted our engine evolution to achieve. And V2500 SelectOne™ is delivering on our promises. The result is an engine that delivers best-in-class reliability, the lowest fuel burn and best performance retention. The V2500 SelectOne™ can also boast the lowest total emissions and environmental leadership, along with the lowest cost of ownership.

Technology

As a multinational collaboration supported by four of the world’s leading aero engine manufacturers, IAE has access to the widest pool of new technology. This collaborative approach has produced significant enhancements to our existing engine standard to deliver the greatest benefit to our customers. Some of the key technologies introduced into V2500 SelectOne™ include:

• The latest in 3D aerodynamics in the High Pressure Compressor to improve handling and efficiency with reduced core temperatures
• The latest in materials and cooling technology in the High Pressure Turbine resulting in an increase in efficiency and component lives
• Adjustments in the Low Pressure Turbine

Other examples of our technology leadership include our wide chord fan, full-length nacelle, HPC coatings and the V2500's optimum design for efficiency.

The V2500 is the class leader in terms of reliability and offers the lowest fuel burn, lowest total emissions, and the lowest noise, making it the engine of choice for the Airbus A320. But what else do you expect when you combine the best of the best?

Existing customers can also reap the benefits of V2500 SelectOne™. Through an IAE Aftermarket Services Agreement, many of the new part standards can be incorporated into existing engines at an overhaul. Thus providing additional value to existing assets.

Continuous Improvement

IAE has always maintained a strong philosophy of continuous improvement. Technology doesn’t stand still, so we move with it and it is central to our strategy to maintain our technology leadership.

We are already the most environmentally-friendly engine on the A320, but we won’t stop there. The environmental constraints our customers face are increasing and we will continue to introduce additional improvements the V2500 to further minimize its environmental impact.
